I met my girlfriend at Blue and Gold the week I moved to East 7th Street over two and a half years ago. It’s our favorite bar. I also had my birthday party at Blue and Gold last year. We love their ciders, pool table, and little library. It’s a great place to have a casual get-together, host a birthday party, or meet the love of your life. My girlfriend and I now live in that East 7th apartment and stop by Blue and Gold regularly.

Great dive in LES. Good selection of drafts, cans, and liquors for a reasonable price. The pool table was busy and it was a nice afters spot. Don't expect to grab a table easily after 7. More

It’s an NYU frat boy bar on the weekends. Avoid if you need to be around adults. Avoid on the weekends in general. Too bad. Used to be a cool place but they just want the money of kids and don’t care about the people who live on the block. What a shame.

Apologies if he’s part of a special hiring program for adults with social difficulties and communication issues, but the satin-vested bartender in his late 50s ruins this spot. Super unpleasant and power trippy for no apparent reason. … More

Found this bar closed off on a side street on a Wednesday night and it turned out to be the best. The drinks were good, solidly priced, and not to mention the juxebox combined with a pool table made it feel like one of the better bars in the east village.

This is the real dive bar! It's a very old place. It's a thing you see in American movies: an old wooden bar, 7/8 tables on the side, a jukebox and a pool table. The staff is friendly, beers are cheap. Perfect! It can be a cool place to get drinks with friends, but it can also be a good date place because of the pool table. It's a local place and some guests seem to be regulars. We had a regular beer and an IPA, and it costed $10. If you are passing through the East Village, be sure to drop by for the real American dive bar experience.

I've been to over 30 countries /hundreds of bars and always come back to B&G as one of the premier bars/taverns in the world.. It's the atmosphere/service, cold beer and the authenticity of the venue...It's second to none. It's definitely not for N.J., L.I. or C.T. bridge and tunnelers trying to be bar divers... More

Nice dive bar.. cheap drinks. Arrived at 1AM.. advertised that close time is 4AM. Bartender informed us that he already called last call but allowed us a drink. Then we attempted to play a game of pool about 1:25AM. Bartender shut us down quick. Kinda disappointed.

An old-school dive bar: jukebox, pool table, good bartender, not too young of a crowd. Surprisingly upscale booze available, and less of a Ukrainian & Polish presence than there was back in the day, but basically unchanged from the early 80s when I first had drinks there. More

Very unprofessional etiquette. Bathroom has no door on stall or lock on bathroom entrance. Easy for someone to walk in. In fact saw the bartender walk in then get mad at the person doing their business when there's no chance for privacy and instead of do the mature thing and leave saying "My bad. I'll wait a second" they proceeded to immaturely yell and make a scene. I didn't see it all happen but I think he even hit the guy. You'd think they would have control of their anger and learn to deal with things calmly having to I'm sure deal with drunk people all the time. Also bathroom is filthy. Wouldn't pass an inspection in my book. Also a lot of people there looked really young. Possibly under 21. Whoever the owner is should get to teaching their staff better customer service.

Rudest bartender ever. He maximized the time ignoring us although we just stepped in and sat in front of him. He didn’t say any word and gave us a rude look. Just said “12” when we paid. Super passive aggressive and on a weird power trip behind his bar. Bombastic sideeye to him
Edit: called him dumb but that’s not nice. Deleted it.

A nice local dive bar that is perfect for a hang out spot. Nice environment and clean. Staff is always friendly and tend to remember you if you’re a regular. Never too crowded. Check it out if for a drink and see if you like the vibe. Just a heads up, it’s CASH ONLY but is very reasonably priced. Always a good time.

Straight up dive bar. Definitely the cheapest drinks in Manhattan, maybe even in East Village as well. No complaints as you get what you expect for a dive bar. Definitely a strong college bar hangout vibe as a result of the cheap prices. Would only come here if I was being a real cheap person.

the bartender/bouncer lady was neurotic. never been treated that rudely in a bar before. would not recommend.
edit: not sure if they mixed us up with another group they ran into the same night. the response is completely incorrect. my group was entirely between the ages of 21 and 29. We were yelled at for standing around outside. (neighbors are shocked to hear noise outside of a bar they chose to live above) hounded for IDs as soon as we stepped in (not entirely an issue. i understand the important of safety for patrons and minors n but a little hospitality would have been nice.) and then were ignored by the bartender when we attempted to order drinks. screamed at while playing pool because we simply did not here the first time we were asked to remove a glass off the table. and made to feel intimidated by the hat seemed to be their “regulars.” the response to to this review only further shows the presumptuous, haughty, and unfriendly attitude they have at this bar and i will say it again, I do not recommend at all, plenty of wonderful bars and great bartenders around the area!

My boyfriend and I met at this bar, we both live on 7th st and were regulars here. His parents were in town visiting and we wanted to show them where we met. The bar tender denied them entry because of their foreign IDs. They are both in their 70's. It was beyond embarrassing as we just wanted them to see where we met and have a drink. The bartender was so rude and takes his job way too seriously. When my boyfriends father smiled at him thinking it was a joke he responded "I am not joking" and asked us to leave.
